Customize Contact Form

The ContactMe contact form has been a huge hit with our users, but there was one feature missing that you, the users, wanted: the ability to customize the fields in your contact form. So, at the risk of making you drunk with power, the ContactMe engineers have given you complete control over the form’s fields. Now you can easily:

  • Change the names of existing fields
  • Add new fields, including textboxes, checkboxes, dropdown menus, radio buttons, date/time options, and more
  • Delete fields
  • Reorder the fields
  • Mark a field as required

Why Customize?

Most contact forms only contain fields for collecting a person’s name, email address, phone number, and message. But with the new ContactMe contact form, you can collect the precise information you need by adding, adjusting, or deleting fields. Think of all the details your business would benefit from gathering: your lead’s Twitter address, mailing address, Skype ID, job title, alternate phone number, company name, URL, referrer, gender, birthday, date and time of submission, and more. Better info means better follow-up messaging and more lead conversions!

A Simple Form Builder

We purposely designed the contact form builder so that you can edit form fields on the left side of the screen while seeing a preview of the form on the right. This setup must be working because we’ve received a lot of positive feedback about how easy it is to make a great contact form with our builder.

Here’s an example of the new customization: by clicking on the pencil next to the “Message” field, I am changing its name from “Message” to “What’s on your mind?”:

And, by clicking “Add another field,” I am now adding Checkboxes to the form. I named this field “Your Favorite Genre”:

Intuitive Form Management

Once you’ve built out your form, you may want to adjust it. Doing so couldn’t be simpler:

  • Drag the fields or down to reorder them
  • Click the pencil to edit
  • Click the X to delete

Easy Contact Management

Automating your lead generation process saves you a ton of time and effort. The information that comes in through the contact form is automatically added to your ContactMe account. Simply login to ContactMe.com to see your contact list.

Build out your contact form with the fields you want and you’ll never go back. A customized form is a like flat screen TV with a DVR—robust, automated, intelligent, easy to use, and snazzy-looking—whereas the standard contact form is more like a 21” TV with VCR.

For step-by-step instructions, check out our article on how to create a ContactMe contact form. For info on the form’s other features, including Premium options, check out our contact form blog post.

Happy customizing!

Oh how awesome! I’ve been waiting for this! Our company has several divisions, and one of the things I wanted to be able to do was let a site visitor select which division there message is meant for. This will be very easy now. Thanks so much for listening to our requests and implementing this new feature quickly. I look forward to testing!

I am currently using this on my small business website. It is an excellent tool. I am having a couple of glitches using it. However, once those are fixed I am anxious to see the results. Being able to customize it is huge.

Any plans to add multiple message blocks to the form? I am building a form that will appear on one of my web pages, where the user will enter many pieces of information. I understand that I can have multiple text fields but the message field is more appropriate. What do you think?
